Justice for George Floyd

Justice for George Floyd

George Floyd was 46 years old when he died, after white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for at least seven minutes. Just like millions of Americans, Floyd is out of work and was looking for a new job.

Came from Houston to Minneapolis several years ago, his friends describe him as as a very gentle person and they called him "gentle giant". Floyd was hoping to start a new life after losing a job as a bouncer at the restaurant.

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was at a grocery shop when an employee called a police after he allegedly gave counterfeit $20 bills upon payment at the counter. Floyd, who was African American, was bought to the ground and one police officer knelt on his neck aggressively.

                           "I can't breathe"

Floyd was repeatedly telling the officer that he can't breathe but he got completely ignored. Few bystanders also called the officer out to give Floyd some help but they also got ignored. The incident end up with paramedics took Floyd's lifeless body off the street to the ambulance.

This awful tragedy should be prevented. They were supposed to be there to serve and to protect.

When will it end?
